A difficult subject to read about but, well worth it. What an amazing life Rudi lived through. Sad that his and Fred’s warning of the massive horrors occurring at Auschwitz were not the call to action they were seeking when they escaped. The author did a great job identifying and describing the various paths Rudi and Fred’s first hand experiences took in the Verba/Wexler report and the responses to it. History like this needs to be known more widely. Man’s inhumanity to others is beyond all my comprehension.
