Finally an adaptation worthy of the infamous Jake Reacher!
I have read a few of the books by Lee Child and they, in my opinion, are a simple and easy read about a genius, hard as they come man. A really likable character that, no matter your personal stance on violence, you cannot help but respect all 6'5" of him.
Enter all 5' 7" of Tom Cruse and you get a guy who is nowhere near silently intimidating enough to be anything other than a terrible choice for the character. Who looks more like he wants to give you a hard talking-to versus not needing to say anything at all.
Alan Ritchson is the perfect Jack Reacher thankfully paired with Lee Child as a Producer, and who better than the creator of the character and enormous fan base for these stories? Alan is the embodiment of the character's huge, strong silent type perfectly tempered with the understanding that he is the smartest and definately most dangerous person in any room, and doesn't care about how you feel about any of it.
Definitely watch if you were on the fence about it and if you're just curious, just watch the first episode. That's all it took for me to realize they really wanted to do this one right. This is a fantastic new series. Now go find out for yourself.
