Well, here we go again! Great opening scene but that’s about it! Totally implausible plot with gaping holes which skates over very basic points. For example, the law attaching to the difficulties of extraditing a UK citizen to China is totally overlooked! The suspect has no legal representation at all. The UK court system is utterly ignored. It’s ridiculous! Punchy music and dialogue doesn’t offer any substitute for a wholesome well-crafted storyline. I gave up on this fairytale after 30 minutes as it annoyed me so much. Sloppy plot and not very convincing casting. I felt Lesley Sharp was totally miscast as the Head of MI5.

Good glossy production but I couldn’t help but feel this was self-congratulatory on the part of Sam McAllister. The background to the setting up of the interview was interesting. Emily Maitliss came over as really eccentric with her lapdog always trailing behind her. Rufus Sewell was remarkable as Prince Andrew.

This series began strongly & was intriguing & very watchable. However, as it moved from one episode to another, I lost interest & found it tedious. Shame as I had received such good reports.

Absolute nonsense on every level. The plot is preposterous to begin with & stretches credibility to such impossible lengths it was an insult to the intelligence. The screenplay was poorly-written and factually badly researched. For instance why was there to be a reading of the deceased husband’s Will? This doesn’t happen nowadays & hasn't for 50 years or so. Under English law, his widow would automatically inherit with or without a Will! The acting was wobbly and very variable. Some actors were distinctly amateur and unbelievable - the main detective was unwatchable as he was so bad. Dame Joanna is truly appalling! She delivers huge slabs of acting ham throughout! Michelle Keegan is watchable but miscast. I stuck with this tripe on the off-chance it would improve but it didn’t! I had high hopes for this given the plaudits some had given it but to say I was disappointed is an understatement. Utter waste of my time! I was certainly fooled once - but never again!

Excellent & thought provoking movie. The emerging back story will remain with me for a long time. Worth watching if only to try to piece together the puzzle.

I felt that ‘Wonka’ was fine but very derivative of several genres and stories. There are sections and tropes which are pure ‘Mary Poppins’ ‘Oliver!’ and ‘Matilda’. The lead actor Timothee Chamalet is very watchable and it’s a revelation that he can sing & dance. Naturally there are oodles of character actors popping up in cameos but they’re always the same actors appearing in every fantasy movie like this. Hugh Grant was very funny though. The children will love it and the media reviews are remarkably positive so it’s bound to be the Christmas 2023 hit movie!

Steve Coogan is superb. He is chillingly excellent, totally inhabiting the manipulative character of Savile. The insertions of real footage of Savile tends to undermine the drama. It’s a very grim and depressing watch but the true scale of his crimes can never be fully presented in a drama. I was left asking myself, apart from a remarkable display of Coogan’s acting ability, why was it made at all?

Very powerful performances from Jeff Bridges & Martin Landau make this a very engrossing movie. It didn’t do well at the box office but it’s a hidden gem. Please watch it. You’ll be pleasantly surprised.

Absolutely appalling in terms of script & production. I found it annoyingly predictable with simplistic & painfully trite acting. I guess it’s mainly aimed at fans of JLo.

Superb movie with the usual powerful compelling performance from DDL. Totally engrossing.
