In a time when so much is happening all at once, and the sheer pressure of existing questions the value of everything, Taylor Jenkins Reid's 'The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo' is a great reminder of why our stories may just be the most important thing there is. Evelyn Hugo is a character that will always stay with me, and have an influence on my life henceforth.

The moment I finished Hanya Yanagihara's 'The People In The Trees,' I set the book away from me and stared at it like it was a dangerous, threatening thing. And then I got under the covers because I felt chilly. I know people - and I do, a lot - use words like 'unforgettable' when they talk about books, but Hanya Yanagihara's 'The People In The Trees' is truly unforgettable. It is impossible, I think, to forget that kind of story.

The story is devastating, yet so compelling that you may wonder at your masochistic tendencies. Hanya writes like she's lived a thousand lives. One of the best books I've ever read.

I haven't been the same since I listened to folklore. I'm still searching for similar albums.
