I didn’t like the movie. I actually hated it. To expand upon the first Bird Box movie, the creators used the God/religion angle to explain in Bird Box 2 the seers motive of getting people to remove their blindfolds. It is God’s command that they kill themselves to save their souls to be with God. Obviously, it is not true. That is not at all how one is saved. That is not how God’s works. It is the opposite of how one is saved to be with the Lord. However, the whole movie is pushing this narrative. The seers are actually more like an occult and are evil. It was a complete turn off that they made this movie and came up with this plot. They couldn’t write anything else more original to explain and expand upon the first Bird Box movie, which there wasn’t an explanation in the first, and it was fine. It didn’t really need to explain anything. I am just sick of movies being made and putting God in it, and really what the movie is about is evilness. Leave God out of it. I really had an attitude watching this movie as I fast forward through most of it.

I am a little confused. Was this movie about horror ghost story or about racism? Who was behind the racism? Was the ghost really real or in Jasmine’s mind? The Master was seeing hallucinations too. Was her experiences ghost related or was her mind playing treats on her? Liv’s identity of trying to pass for white is a whole subject matter for a separate movie. Liv’s mother said that Liv was evil, so I thought the movie would take a direction of maybe Liv was behind the racist acts or she was possessed by the ghost. Liv’s story never was flushed out. It just went flat. There was a message for sure about racism, but the confusion for me is that I didn’t know why it was also written as a horror ghost story. It could have just been about racism in college academia.
