I feel entitled to review this game considering I've been playing Fallout even before Bethesda took over the IP. When they did, it revolutionized the franchise, and I don't think anybody else who has been playing these games for so long would argue to that. I'll try to keep this short, so I'll just make a list of things that caught my attention that's got something going either for or against it.
Pros:
-Improved graphics. Higher resolution. Graphics are visibly sharper.
-Performance wise it has faster loading times.
-Loving the improved outpost and ship builder. It's noticeably better than Fallout 4. Hopefully they will add more content to this with some updates.
-More options to upgrading your gear.
-Main storyline is short but is immersive and gets to the point. The way it lets you continue the game is well thought out. There's also a lot more side quests from any of the previous games that will give you something to do.
-Scanner gives you a point of direction when you're lost or looking for something in specific.
-Jet pack. Does what it's supposed to do to make it feel like you're in space.
In the middle ground:
-Side quests could be more engaging. Most of these quests will have you run an errand then never have anything to do with that npc ever again.
-Similarly with the storyline NPCs, there's only four I believe where you can engage with them and help them out with their own personal side quests.
-Playing as a starborn could have more perks like night vision and maybe some sort of immunities to the environment or something of that sort because hey why not, you beat the game and earned it.
Cons:
-Storage. I struggled finding a place to store everything. Hence, I was frequently over encumbered.
-Bugs and glitches. Not as many from other games but still there.
-Stealing and contraband prevents you from acquiring credits and items without going out of your way.
-Ethics. You get bashed and penalized by everyone including your followers with the only exception for Mathis Castillo. The Crimson Fleet faction is pretty much the only questline where you can be "bad".
What I would've liked to see or do:
-Have an alien follower. Having a pet terramorph would've been epic.
-Have an ultimate weapon or armor that you would have to find from subtle hints and clues.
-Starborn specific quests that will make you even stronger.
-show more love to planet earth and give it a building or two.
What the next game should be? A Fallout/Starfield hybrid perhaps? A Starfield with time travel to save the earth? Whatever it is, I'll be looking forward to it. Even though I gave it three stars, this game is worth playing even after you beat it. Looking forward to any future updates too.
