My thoughts are this, if you're going to portray a combat operation, patrol, etc., then do it accurately. First of all, these days, a combat patrol isn't going to be two Humvees cruising down a road in an active combat zone in Afghanistan, especially two Humvees that aren't unarmored. And the crews are not going to be on patrol in the combat zone with no body armor. Now for the good stuff. Her husband was active duty and supposedly killed in action. She wouldn't be struggling to pay a mortgage because SGLI would pay it off, if not the life insurance he had to pay off the mortgage in the event of his demise. On top of that, she wouldn't be having to work long hours at a diner to make ends meet unless she blew through the life insurance money. I do understand the intent of the movie and I'm not knocking it, but again, it needs to be set up to be more realistic if you're going to set the tone using that premise. Your trying to cater to more of a military oriented crowd of which I'm one, being a military retiree. My suggestion is do it right or don't do it at all.
