I imagine that the plot is gratifying,.but the style leaves much to be desired. The book unfolds as one of those pulp fiction novels of the early 20th century and appears to want to duplicate the style of the incomparable Mickey Spillane. I found the style very frustrating, but the narrative and the quick-paced style makes up for what is lacking in literary excellence.
