The Witcher is an interesting show that starts with a bit of a light touch, then suddenly gains a gripping hold on your senses and carries on till the 8th episode. While it seeks to captivate you with a whirlwind storyline that circles around the past and the present with everything and everyone that connects it all together, the occasional dots in the narrative are usually outlined as the audience reflect on the eventualities.
Though many epic plots with similar actors have surfaced before this, The Witcher remains original, entertaining the mythical co-existence between Elves, Mages, Mutants, Monsters and Humans. Also fascinating is the dialogue that often shuffles between poetic and comical.
Another plus to the show is it's excellently choreographed fight scenes which meets the mark by all standards of swordplay in my book. Henry Cavill delivers The Witcher's swordsmanship, character and personality with utmost precision it almost makes you want to give up your life's goals to be one!
All in all, the Witcher is an awesome adaptation from the Polish fantasy book series and I look forward to Season 2. However, its way too soon to call it a replacement for Game of Thrones - but so far it's certainly a worthy substitute!
