It was obviously made with American market in mind. There are many inaccuracies in the film such as the view of Tower bridge which wasn't built till much later than Jack the ripper.
Holmes was a gentleman and would never be seen at the opera in an Inverness cape and deer stalker hat.
Plumbers Holmes is bland and uninteresting if it were not for James Mason's Watson the film could be slow and boring.
