I an 20% into the book, no I dont mind the style I like it its easy to digest, I dont dislike the sources(roman historians from the time who did inded like to multiply stuff just like the greeks and others from that time) but what I cant grasp is her opinions or better say conclusions from these sources. How in the world can you say that roman political system and system of what they did to countries they ruled over wasnt well thought system because “its impossible they sat and talked about it in 4 sentury b.c.e” when we all know that they took politics and law very seriously and invested serious time into it. Even if put that fact aside, how can you say that a mixture of on spot random decisions on those topics could result into a one of a kind revolutionary system. Makes 0 sense, if you want to read this book, u will have to use ur brain to remove her personal opinion from facts which is gonna be a little bit of hastle, and if you dont know anything about rome may this not be ur first book please because u gonna look dumb in front of people who know roman history if you use her views on many serious topics.
