Christian Bale is magnificent. Great tale about 1980's and current state of American materialism. The vapid and self consumed characters can be a reflection of today's society. All this leading to the feelings of emptiness, self loathing, and dehumanization. Music is great. Sometimes used to create outstanding dark comedic moments. I found myself laughing at some of the most gruesome scenes. A must see for any budding film student. The camera work is crisp. The angles and framing bring out the best of the characters and narrative.
