Wonderful casting, not one mismatched actor with their characters. The two drug dealers - amazing acting, especially from Sean Harris as Sketch, worthy of an Oscar. Emily Mortimer's, procedure driven detective although cleverly underplayed by her, highlighted the fact that young police people like her and her offsider, are promoted too early in their careers and are simply not experienced enough to handle hardened lifelong criminals and their organisations. What more accolades can be heaped on Sir Michael Caine; he brings out the best in any actor of any age working with him. To me this is his best performance in his movie career. The character of Harry Brown was not after revenge as has been suggested, but justice. His reply to the remark from Emily Mortimer's detective character when she tells him that this is not Northern Ireland, is a simple statement from him that the people of Northern Ireland were fighting for a cause, but that of these drugged up thugs is just for entertainment. Apparently, many people objected to the "fighting for a cause" comment, but there can be no denying that the behaviour of those drugged up louts is just for entertainment, and that their protective relatives are just as criminal as they are.
