Saripodha Sanivaram truly stands out as one of the best commercial films ever made in the industry. This film is directed by Vivek Athreya
Starring- Nani, Sj Suryah, Priyanka Mohan, sai Kumar and others. Produced by DVV productions.
The film is a perfect blend of emotions and action. As seen in the teaser, the clash, the plot, the drama were very well set and it entirely builds up the energy in the audience. The teaser and the trailer literally ruled the social media. Those promos, teaser cuts are enough to tell how much potential it holds to succeed. And then the main reason for the hype is its bgm. The bgm and songs by Jakes Bejoy is now literally ruling my playlist. This has just became a regular thing for me.
I personally appreciate Nani for giving Vivek another chance to prove himself & this time he didn't fail. As we know that ante stands back because of its duration and screenplay, Vivek Athreya this time made it simple for the audience. He made this in a format that everyone can easily understand the plot and the screenplay. Duration may be considered as an exception. The film's duration is 3 hrs and honestly speaking, it never feels boring or dragged. This is Vivek's perfect comeback.
The story revolves around a village called 'sokulapalem'. Where the villagers are tired of getting beaten by the inspector 'Daya' and as there is another reason for this agony which I won't be telling as it reduces the theatrical experience. So this is just like the films which came in the early 2000s, pakka commercial, where the hero is seen raging on a villain for a cause. Just like that, its just a routine template. The screenplay and the direction made it better.
Giving names to the sub-plots, flashing scenes in between the screenplay was really overwhelming.
To go deep in the story, there's nothing else to say, just the characters doing their job. But, Nani simply killed as surya. As the name suggests "surya" the fierce is seen throughout the film. Murali sharama's character was not so impressing. Sj Suryah is like that kind of character who is set, just to entertain the audience with his humour. But, his entire sequence in sokulapalem rises an anger towards him. Hence, a perfectly designed antagonist. Priyanka Mohan as the lady lead did well.
Editing was good like a commercial film with modern editing.
Now coming to the negatives
This kinda left me skeptical, did I think too much or is it just the way it should be worked?
The glimpse and the first single ' garam garam' made me feel like a supernatural element added with some quirky stuff like surya getting the powers only on Saturday to hit the people etc and in the film there's nothing like that, just a regular routine show. Being it directed by Vivek, really made me think that it would go non linear and to my utter surprise it didn't. Did he change his style? Or did we set any perception on him?
However, this time the ante situation didn't repeat and that's enough for me.
Verdict- Saripodha Sanivaram is a comeback for the director and a hat-trick for Nani. Nani's versatility remains unbeaten. This film is a saviour for tfi this time.
