I was so ready to be disappointed, so ready to be heartbroken like how The Last Jedi broke my heart.
This is by far the best series adaption of a fantasy genre I ever seen.
Not only that, when they talked about how it wouldn't be like in the game, I was mortified that the fans of the game would be ignored JUST TO PLEASE GoT FANS. Ef them, they already have their show.
Actors:
Henry as Geralt is THE Geralt of Rivia from the games and that is the best part of the series, as I wasn't ready for a new unfamiliar, him being the Geralt I know and love is a dream come true.
Yennefer is the second best part of the movie, no question about it. Strong, driven, nihilistic, but kind deep inside, she is fantastically portrayed by Anya.
Dandelion, otherwise known as Jaskier in this, is also great, his fourth wall breaking humor and natural expositions are very welcome for newcomers and fans alike. Joey as Dandelion is so charming, funny and have great chemistry with Geralt.
Unfortunately for Ciri and Freya, this early in the story, she is very helpless and basically does nothing, but Freya does a great job and we can't wait for her to become Geralts very own all powerful little witchling.
Queen Calanthe, Tissaia and Stregobor has to mentioned, the acting and portrayal of their characters are gripping and memorable.
I was kinda afraid Netflix's shady marketing tactic disguised as "racial inclusivity" would ruin the lore of the Witcher, because in the world of Witcher, racism is a big part of it.
I mean, they wouldn't let Yennefer be the mage in Aedirn BECAUSE SHE IS QUARTER ELF? And yet they chose Fringilla, a black girl, over her? How does that make sense?
This just undermines the whole racist tension, I mean, if Nilfgaardians would let anyone of any race to be Empire Mages, how bad can they be?
Now I just sound racist over how much I rant about the race swappings, but I'm not saying that we shouldn't have racial diversity, we should do it so it makes sense.
Despite all that, while Fringilla from the game was very forgettable character, Mimi's portrayal of Fringilla is striking and memorable.
When she stormed in and threatened the all powerful witches and sorcerers of Aretuza, she stole the whole scene and made the mages unwillingless to aid Cintra all more convincing.
This was a great experience as a fan, I gave it 4 stars as this was just the slow setup of great things to come.
