One of the best films I've ever seen. I'd recommend it to any human being. I personally lover genre-blenders and find the particular mix of thriller or drama + comedy + social commentary to be somewhat addicting - like Get Out, or Death to Stalin. Perhaps because society is scary and the best way to escape dread is to laugh at it. Well, Everything, Everywhere, All at Once gives you just that. The heart of its conflict centers on one family across the multiverse. Philosophically, the conflict is something like absurdism or pessimistic nihilism versus humanism or optimistic nihilism.
I'll just say this movie does wonderful things for representation in cinema, it produces a true sense of wonder and enjoyment for the audience, and it sets a high bar for future genre-bending filmmakers. The most impressive thing for me was how easy the plot was to follow despite the sheer chaos on screen, and how real and cohesive characters' emotional journeys felt even if they were only on screen for a few seconds. A lot of talent had to come together to bring a film like this to life.
