*SPOILER ALERT* For the most part I found Star Wars The Rise of Skywalker a pleasing film and well worth the 42 year wait. There were just of few things I need to mention which keeps me from giving it 5 stars. I was disappointed about the marginalization of Rose Tico’s character and we never find out what Fin wanted to tell Rey, but over all this movie was a love letter to the fans. Every actor down to the background actors delivered fantastic performances. This was not an easy task to end The Skywalker saga and I give the movie a B+ with and A for effort.

One of the bravest things one can do is hold a mirror to oneself and reckon with one’s life. Val Kilmer does this..and then shares his most intimate moments for all the world to see. If this film doesn’t get him some kind of major award, accolade, whatever, (he is one of the most under appreciated actors of the modern era) I may seriously consider leaving the business for good. Watch this, even if you aren’t a performing artist like me, because the biggest take away is that in spite of one’s tragedies and mistakes one can still live life fully and joyfully.

I found this to be a truly empowering movie and a well deserved backstory for the Black Widow. I hope, somehow, they can bring Scarlett Johansson back...if she wants to come back after all that nonsense she was put through.
