With this latest from Garry Disher we discover crime fiction turned on its head, and gleefully follow his various characters as they go through their lives, trying to keep a hold on what's happening, and thoroughly enjoying the challenge if it all. Garry Disher is a master at creating characters who seem so real, we swear they ARE real, and we care about them. The ending of this book was a surprise, and while it didn't end how I'd expected it to end, it ended in an entirely appropriate way - no happy ever after here, but a satisfying ending anyway, once I'd got over my surprise!
