I was so looking forward to this series, esp after actually visiting the Tar pits a few years ago. However the more I watched further into the first episode, the more a sinking feeling crept into my bones. The acting of virtually every character who speaks is downright awful. The lines these poor people are made to speak are actually laughable, which is a really bad sign for a drama. They seem to be going for a poor mans version of “Lost”, and not doing so well. Another really bad sign is when after only 1 episode, you are really rooting for the poor Saber Tooth tigers and Dire wolves to eat everyone and end this pain.

Excellent first episode, not tracking the book literally, but a good story being told. Was worried what Trollocs would look like, but they had an absolutely terrific rendering, were terrifying. Very good casting and acting so far. Very happy, can’t wait to see the rest of the season.
