The plot? What is happening here? It's strange and I can't stand waiting to understand the direction I am going with the plot. It's quite strange. Halfway through I was falling a sleep. I was hoping to love this film but couldn't even finish it. Too many strange turns that it made it boring because you can't follow it. Yawwn. I'm tired even writing about it.

Nicole Richie did a great job acting. The music had a bunch of disturbing cuss words and referencing to sexual acts. This is supposed to be a kids movie. It's not the exact storyline but it was ok. I think people wanted to walk out because there seemed to be some reverse racist remarks and also making Mrs. Sturak was the only white (racist) main character that they killed off, so seemed a little intentional. They could have mixed up the characters a lot more when it comes to race and culture. That is the real world... If they would have kept it a little more PG and not so bashing against the white race, it could have been a hit..

I had to watch the original afterward to get this bad remake out of my mind. They took out a lot of bullying that takes place even today. Maybe they didn't want "triggering" words, but the point is to be in a real life high school setting. Removing triggering bullying, was a bad move. It makes it look fake and living in an a high school setting that's fake. The original showed this cause it's something that needed to pointed out. Now it's a fake musical. A musical? Why ruin the entire movie? Taking lines from the old movie to sing them wasn't a good idea. The personalities aren't even close to the original, except the gay friend Damian. The new Damian was the only funny one that made me laugh. Otherwise, I was bored. Cady wasn't like Lohan at all. She was way too innocent. Why is Lohan only in a small part as a mediator for the Mathletes game? Lame. Bring back all the original cast with maybe their kids, and they have to deal with each other again as adults. Two stars just because the new Damian needs to get credit.
