Never heard of the book. Not going to read it. But, since this is a review, I might as well one of the masterpieces of modern society, the old Martin Scorsese flick, Taxi Driver, starring Robert DeNiro. Through a series of pessimistic plot twists and an eerie sense of the overwhelming nature of city-life, Scorsese weaves a tale of a lonely taxi driver who becomes an unlikely hero. A movie for our times, it speaks to the harrowing futility of political intervention and the inherent disconnect between mass movements and individual initiative.
