This remake of the 1979 original version wasn't the worst horror movie I've seen, but it's on my list. You have to wait through 50 minutes of terrible writing, and because of this, you may find yourself yelling at your TV screen, like I did, over how stupid and naive they made the main character, Jill, the high school aged babysitter.
Anytime a horror or thriller movie presents the main character as an idiot, the movie goes downhill for me.
Jill, the babysitter, had so many danger signs, and reasons to dial 911. I found myself yelling at my TV. Spoiler alert: One of Jill's friends come by to see her, but after she leaves we assume she is attacked. A few moments later, Jill receives a phone call from her friend who left, and we see her name on caller ID. But, surprise, it's not her, it's the creepy guy who now has her friend's phone. Does Jill call 911? Of course she doesn't. She calls everyone else first. Ugh!
