We hadn’t read the reviews on this, so went into this fresh.
A normal beginning for the film. Anne (Olivia Coleman) and ageing father, Anthony (Anthony Hopkins) with plans being unveiled for changes as Anne moves abroad.
I’m not going to give you any spoilers but, as people change, you get an understanding of Anthony’s confusion as everything he thinks he knows unravels and there is nothing he can do about it.
A superb cast build on the sense of “lostness” and, as a viewer, you become invested into Anthony’s mindset and the spiralling descent into a world of loneliness, of being unable to distinguish one day from the next.
Amazingly sad but a must see.
