This movie is definitely for older kids and I'm not a huge fan of the negative perceptions of parental roles that this movie portrays. For 13+ year olds, I could see it being an effective tool for introducing personal choice and consequence for that age group if you're looking for a movie to open that discussion with your child. I would recommend watching before you child does or at least with them to make your own opinions though.
