Very well written though misogyny is the total thread of the book in regards to Zades relationship with Addie. The famous gun seen sets the tone of their relationship. I found the over use of the sex scenes could have been condensed instead of the pages and pages of detail becoming somewhat boring.At times the book was flat with it running out of ideas which in my view could have been better managed. That said its very readable and although not the best book I've read it is certainly not the worst.
As I say the writing alone makes it worth a read.

Totally good acting with an impressive cast and excellent location. Good story line ruined by a political message at the end with transgenderism being once again pushed. Outside of that a solid movie worth a look.

The settings and costumes were exceptional. That said the movie was a far cry from the original with its somewhat mediocre story line and in many cases hollywood dialogue.Denzel Washington was also a bad choice as the Gladiator overlord with his modern contemporary acting and thick American accent ( also very Hollywood). I mean even the ending where the legions of soldiers being the enemy of Rome decide to put down their weapons rather then fight smacks of the new world of inclusiveness and is totally unbelievable if not a corny Hollywood ending. Yes certainly.wirth a look.but.compared to the likes of Richard Harris, Russell Crow and Oliver Reed there is no such stand-out performances in this movie.

Absolutely first class period 1930s movie. Superb acting and a great storyline. Forget the major critc reviews that see everything through the lense of a 16 year old. Definitely worth a look

Absolutely loved it - the fact they could bring the magic of Hogwarts to the stage through outstanding special affects was a credit to the production. For the un- iniated it would be wise to at least read an outline or watch a few of the movies so as to understand the story line. That said I highly recommend it without hesitation . We saw both parts at the Princess in the one day but over two consecutive weeks would also be just as good.
