I thought this was a very thoughtful film. At first it appears a very straight forward story of an investigation into whether the girl can live in manna from heaven. As we discover the different characters' own stories, they all begin to be drawn together for satisfying finish. That is not to say it is a predictable ending, rather there are personal salvations. Some have commented that this portrayed Ireland in a poor light but it is rather a reflection of a traditional male establishment. On the whole, a very good story.
