I've just started re-reading The Idiot - after a miserable attempt by an on-line publisher to pass off Ulysses as one of the 50 pieces of literature you have to read before you die, what rubbish that was - and believe the Russian is the world's best writer, ever!
Such sensitivity, such gift of observation, a true masterpiece. (Needless to say I cried a few timesover the passages with the birds, and the smal children...)
If you still haven't read it, take a 'sickie' from work and start reading it, now!
