A very underrated TV series. Honestly I have never seen any Greek adaptation as faithful to its original text as this show, yet at the same time also giving more depth to its character to suit contemporary storytelling.
It shows not only the complexity of the 'Illiad' itself, but also of war, how it affects and devastates everyone even after it ends. Yes it is violent, but so does war, and they portray in such raw honesty that makes the ugliness of war so unsettling; instead of glorifying blood and violence in such a vulgar, maniac way that its competitor, 'Game of Thrones', did.
It is utterly shameful how this show gets popular recognition it deserves. I love 'Game of Thrones', yes, but 'Troy: Fall of a City' is a more realistic, yet also endearingly poetic, fantasy cinema.
