Fast paced and exciting, a fun way to spend ninty minutes.

It was a nice companion book too 'On Writing' if you want more details on the publishing industry or King's writing process then pick this up, you won't be disappointed. If you're looking for something that resembles the movie 'Secret Window' look somewhere else.

Beautiful imagery and strong themes. The plot gets a little lost IMHO and the characters sometimes do things that are unexpected. And not unexpected in the sense of 'Wow I didn't see that coming!', instead it left me scratching my head asking 'Why did they do that, was the author running out of ideas?'. I can both see why it's a classic and not on the same level as LOTR or Dune.

It's Stephen King writing about writing, and it's as good as you'd expect. He does a deep dive into the nuts and bolts of the industry and craft in the insightful, easy to understand way that only King can write. Anyone interested in writing or better understanding King's process will love this book. Ten stars.

I really tried liking this book, but there are to many characters, new words, and plot threads. I spent the whole time confused and as soon as I was getting into one character or subplot it was over and on to the next.

I wish I could give it more stars. It's true to the movie and true to the essence of a novella. It's fun and exciting, doing a deep dive on a few themes, full of laughs and action. I'd recommend this for all ages, any one who has a few hours would do themselves a favor by picking up this gem.

Let me start with the good. Fantastic world building and a great way to see what could have been. Now the not so great. While a lot happened and there are strong themes there was no big 'moment' for me, nothing to hold on to and carry going forward. Maybe it was just to high brow for me to understand but that's my take.

Honestly, this book is like reading a piece of religious text. Nothing will ever be the same and the whole world makes so much more sense. Hyperbole? No. Few things deserve this kind of praise, but this book does. Do yourself a favor and read this.
