I frankly, couldn't comprehend the intentions of the movie. This is because: a) I have seen Kahaani multiple times & b) Did this movie set out to redeem Bob? By itself the movie is pretty good in fact pretty damn good but you always wish for something more. One of the major characters in Kahaani was Kolkata the city. Sadly missing here. And the character essayed by the actor in Kahaani had a sinister aura around him. It was totally absent here. Why, I don't know. Performances are actually excellent all around but just that tiny bit contrived. Seeing Chitrangada makes you realise how much you miss her. And my pet grouse with Abhishek is that he doesn't let go fully like he has done so far in only one movie - Yuva. If he somehow rediscovers that aspect of acting, it will be mind-blowing. It's a decent one time watch. But not like Kahaani I am afraid

Very rarely does one come across a movie wherein the only words that can be used are "gut wrenching" or "soul stirring". The movie is a brutual reminder to us today that we should never take our freedom for granted. Many people like Sardar Udham & all the martyrs at Jalianwala Bagh who are unnamed, their sacrifice needs to be honored till our last breath. Vicky Kaushal is simply amazing. And the last half hour - no words can do justice for that. Grief, beyond words.
