Shockingly bad and disappointing, To coin a phrase, trite, cliched, inane.... we expect a bit of implausibility in tv series but this was just start to finish. I will give the second one a try and hope there's a massive improvement, I know its going to be hard to match SOTL but this is nowhere near at all so far

Nightmare alley was pretty good, entertaining and more of a thriller as it went on, but I got the strong feeling of an old fashioned sort of American film which tells a big dramatic (and a bit incredible) personal story. Or maybe that's because I knew it's a remake of a 1947 film 🤔it's the very epitome of American individual pursuit of success and uncaring exploitation of others along the way, but all in all a decent thriller and some interesting reflections on why some people,, characteristically Americans, are so keen on being analysed and having their fortunes told

Brilliant evocation of British middle class angst, it’s all in there, guilt, remorse, regret, silent suffering. Superbly acted and scripted, I ran out of tissues half way through lol.
