In this type of Factual Political Drama representation the most crucial factors are Neutrality Impartiality and Balanced weight-age> All three of which suffered here.
1. Only one sided view of the - let's say so called victims. But never ever any attempt to present the - so called tormentors view - let alone justify their course of action. Is their any iota of doubt regarding the importance of population control to allow the fruits of development to percolate to the ground level ?
2. Were the Muslims only subjected to Nasbandi or sterilization and demolition as shown in the picture ? Whatever demerits the Emergency period was having it was not at least communal.
3. Due to influenced by incomplete and judgemental views the balancing act suffered the most - as a result the movie.
Acting wise all performed brilliantly . Only flaws were due to depicting the characters only in black or white. No gray at all !
Most surprising bull's eye hitting point in the movie was the spectacular use of the famous kawali "Chadta Sooraj Ek din dhal jayega". As if it was written for this situation itself, Each couplets were so hard hitting and expressive driving slaps to the antagonists !
Madhur Bhandarker was trying to put forward his own interpretation without any pretension convincingly. How far you agree or disagree with him is a different matter.
