Essentially this movie tells of Cabrini’s life between 1887 when she went to ask the Pope to go to China and 1892 when Columbus Hospital in New York City was founded. Many more interesting details of her 65 year life can be found even on her Wikipedia page. For example, did you catch that the little girl launching paper boats with violets in them was her and that she pretended the violets were missionaries and the boats were going to China and India? She did so much more in her life than was shown. At the same time, I felt the movie dragged / lulled me to sleep at times. For being over 2 hours, I think they could have included more of her life. Nevertheless, I feel it was a good movie and a story worth telling. It would be easier to recommend the movie if it were shorter or told more of her story.
