An all-out Vijay movie!
After seeing the trailer and movie reviews, I went in only to enjoy Vijay's act and nothing else. I was pleasantly surprised; I liked Sarathkumar and Jayasudha's performance. The supporting cast had decent screen time, especially Vijay's brothers and the two villains. Dialogues were good, I could connect with the emotions. Songs and comedy worked well. The climax was different for a Vijay movie; had a Vaaranam Aayirum type of voiceover.
BGM at times was too loud, however, it complimented many scenes. Kushbhu's scene was cut out. Rashmika had nothing to do, except the songs. She hardly looked like a pair for Vijay. The human trafficking sequence did not sync well with the main story. The elder son's problem resolution was unsatisfactory. A family is important, but you cannot brush everything under the carpet for the perfect family picture all the time.
Overall, a nice Vijay movie that I would love to re-watch again on a lazy Sunday afternoon. The songs are already an integral part of my Vijay playlist.
