Stunning, expertly paced filmmaking. Anyone giving this a 1 must have a Hulu subscription or something normie and terrible like that......

This film is so underrated. The tones, cinematography, colours…. are to die for, you could watch it with no dialogue and still find it captivating. And the disconnect between all the layers of words, poetry, detective drama, true crime, music…..it swirls around the two characters for a perfect two hours of cinema to get completely lost in. While also subverting Hollywood tropes (the film is set in a bleak, cold, alien and noirish NYC, like it has never been filmed before) Easily….. One of the best films of the 21st Century.

Great piece of cinema. It will age well, since good quality films that can synthesise emotion, narratives, metaphor and human truth, are rare in the 2020s

This film is amazing. Deep and personal with a lot of California’s past and present presented metaphorically and in life-sized portraits. its OK if you dont get it though
