Yes, there were awkward moments. However I think overall they did a pretty decent job. It’s hard to follow up a successful show, let alone such a fan favorite. REMEMBER to judge this season with the first season of That 70s Show. None of the actors had found their “footing” yet until I’d say the middle of the 2nd season. Several actors we actually uncomfortable about the part they had to play. Kutcher is quoted saying how awkward he felt kissing Jackie on screen as she was 14 and he was 19. So I think if you compare it to the first season of T70S instead of its best….. it gives you a better “perspective”. However… one thing… i do agree it needs more 90s references/props/costume. ESPECIALLY music. Still really liking it. I think if there is a season 2 (and i really hope there is) the actors will be more comfortable and it’ll pull things together just a bit more.
