I was appalled when I read the line “She was dirtied, sullied by someone whose name she couldn't even remember.” When describing a 15-year old who had been raped. There is absolutely no excuse, ever, for putting judgement on a person for being assaulted. This book is religious, fine, that is a non-issue, though, it compounds the insult even more with a history of the church not supporting victims and then to have this drivel spouted. It’s nauseating.
