The concept of the movie of having babies developed in Pods is not new but in this movie it is being depicted in sleek and futuristic designs.
This movie focuses so much on the development of women in that it suggests that the future will be led by them; and the role of men is made obsolete as they are not needed in the fertilization process, meaning, women can order a baby with the need for a sperm from a man, which undermines men's value.
Men in this movie are depicted as emotional, unstable, old fashioned, unreliable, naive, insecure, jobless, burden to their family and society. Men are shown as weak, indecisive, helpless, and altogether unneeded.
A working woman can make all decisions, small and big without consulting her man. The case with Charlie making a down payment on the ordered baby speaks volumes of the role of men in left-based, Western world future.
Charlie comes home from work. Her jobless husband who doesn't earn anything asks her for an explanation of a bank transfer of $9000. After some hesitation, she tells him what the money was wired for - a down payment for the baby Pod.
The man gets passively upset that she didn't tell him about this baby and this is a big decision that they both should sit down and discuss. But because she has a job and earns money and her job offers her a promotion through which they pay for her baby cost, she believes that getting this child doesn't concern her man at home, so she doesn't bring it up and keeps it to herself.
The man apologizes, opens his arm offering a hug, and says 'I love you', after everything she said.
She tried many different ways to persuade him and after he agreed, the manager of Pod center tells Charlie that she only needs a sample of her stem cells or genes to implant in her baby girl, and she adds "unless you want a boy, your man is not needed in this process"
The directors of this movie did a great job a showing how useless men will be in the Western's future.
As we already see today in many Western countries, administrative positions from the government, like finance, taxes, city halls, job centers, hr, specify on their website that they don't accept job applications from Males. Some other non governmental companies use two entry bars, extremely high and competitive for men, and moderate and easy to hop over bar for female candidates.
There is data that supports these statements above. This is sad but real.
