The church has made Jesus into a traditionally garbed and "holy" person. After traveling in Israel I had the sense that walking with Jesus was much more a matter of humanity including gathering food for meals, making a fire for meals, building a tent structure and a lot more about "hanging out with the guys and Mary," if you dare to consider the possibility. The Chosen gives that sense of the MAN of God as well as the GOD MAN. The humanity of Jesus is exquisitely portrayed in a genuine, authentic, real way. Thank you, Dallas Jenkins. As we watched the live series recently it was so good to discover per one of your watch sessions that you are Jerry Jenkins' son. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND The Chosen for those who struggle with what I refer to as "churchianity" or "religiosity." I'm a pastor and I have found myself often apologizing for the pain that people have experienced due to "church." God bless you for such a wonderful work.
