Beautifully done. Genuine Predator formula brutally presented while managing to avoid being pigeonholed to even the slightest repetition. Robert Rodriguez’s entry gave the franchise CPR and a return to standard. Prey took the standard and treated us to a perfect storm of originality and familiarity (BIG SHOUT OUT TO THE FAN FILM, you’re the reason for all of this). Arnold Schwarzenegger, Danny Glover, AMBER MIDTHUNDER!! Midthunder did her part. Instead of collapsing into “hear me roar” and a feminist happy hour, MIDTHUNDER made every moment translate into believable learning on the fly, battlefield savagery and Art Of War tactician 101. It’s what the movie game needed.
