I have binge watched the first season so far and I was hooked from the start up. I really liked the whole thing and didn't feel bored even for a second. If you do not understand the value of a family then I am sure you will criticize it. This show is not just about a drug cartel hunting their moles or FBI undercovers but much more.
Marty is shown as a smartest financial adviser who is caught up in a situation in which the cartel pushed a reset button on his life. He is now calculating each and every move like he would do with his accounts.
The director made sure that we experience the story from the eyes a family who is on the edge and struggling to stay alive together. The way marty figures out everything shows his determination and willingness to never give up. The narrative is so realistic and remarkable that it puts you in the shoes of Marty himself.
He knows he has no time divorcing his wife and fighting for the kids but instead he chose to protect the kids by staying together. He now treats his wife a business partner and takes control of the situation. This is the thing that I liked the most.
The shows focuses more on the impact of choices one makes rather than impulsive decisions. The choices Marty makes have the power to change his own future. Marty is a cool minded person who never chose to handle a situation impulsively or aggressively but he is calculating his moves that impresses even the drug lords and makes them buy him. Money laundering is not easy and this show is the first show ever made to describe how hard it is.
