I LOVE Pokemon and have played most of the games. The game has potential, and did something new, but was poorly executed. It is a bummer that you cannot go in buildings or explore them for a majority of the cities. The game is also incredibly glitchy, and runs poorly. I’m not sure how someone gave the green light on it other than knowing that people will still buy it. The story was fun and memorable, and the open world was cool. You also could do the story in the order you want, but it suffers from no level scaling. A worthwhile play for a Pokemon fan, but don’t expect a polished game. For that, you’ll need to buy/play a different one

This is a review for the Switch version. If you haven’t played the game, and want to play it, this will give you a taste of the game. However, it plays okay, and the reviews aren’t as bad as people make it. With all that being said, I would play it on a different system if you could. Seems like it would run better and be a better experience. I do appreciate, though, that the game isn’t a cloud/streaming one, but perhaps if could have benefited from being one

I just played the remake and really enjoyed it. The story is excellent, and is key to understanding KH2, especially the beginning. It had a great arc for Riku, and explains the origins of quite a few characters. I enjoyed making a deck for Sora, and the gameplay mechanics were different, but fun. The story wasn’t a complete rehash of KH1, but some of the rooms you battle in do get a little repetitive. Sometimes the game can be a little bit of a grind, but the grind is important! Lots of ways to battle and construct your character. Riku had a great story but it just didn’t have the depth At some points, especially for the worlds. It was also a little challenging at points with his deck constantly changing and not being able to be altered

This is an amazing game and remake. The game moved with meaningful pace. The writing is solid and witty; you’ll find it hilarious! The characters are fun, unique, and memorable. The combat is also fun, engaging, and doesn’t seem repetitive! Having played the original one for the GameCube, it seemed like walking down memory lane! The new changes are great quality of life updates If you love Mario and RPGs, this is a must have!
