The people in the comments saying it's a waste of time and that the plot does not make sense OBVIOUSLY missed the point of this show. It is a dark comedy and based on your AI-enhanced reviews, you clearly don't have any idea how black comedy works. It depicts today's world - how people like number 1 - despite being hardworking and clever - cannot leave the bottom part of the pyramid simply because that was his fate. Yes, some people did prove that you can change this narrative - NOT a lot, though. You have people like number 8 who would make the most money even without doing anything. You have your typical number 4 who would take the side of whoever was winning. Do you hate how they portrayed number 5 for taking the first place on empathy? Does it not happen in real life? And then you have number 3 who's not very smart, not very talented either, yet holds firmly on his principles. The scenes that "don't make much sense" basically paint the idea that these people are on the verge of losing their sanity. They don't eat well, are sleep deprived, neverending need to strategize, and have poor hygiene would definitely get the best of you. The only part that I didn't like was the use of BDSM stuff - that felt too forced, I would say. For some reason, South Korea has this suppressed obsession with BDSM, I guess.
