Though the acting is better than the average Netflix production, the plot fails to rise above the fog of mediocrity. This film is enjoyable when paired with scrolling on one's phone or unloading groceries, but when provided with undivided attention, the story falls short. The motivation for several core characters is never made clear, resulting in a soft and undefined conclusion.

As is the case with most Netflix shows, this retelling of She-Ra and the Princess of Power is built on an interesting concept, but favors width over depth in terms of it's story and world building. Children will likely enjoy it because flashing lights and princesses, and at the end it is a show for children, but any young adults looking for an animated show with convincing character development should just go rewatch Avatar: The Last Airbender.

Frozen 2 outshines it's predecessor in character development, plot, and, dare I say it, music. The entire soundtrack feels much more like a Broadway musical than a typical Disney film, similar to "For the First Time In Forever (Reprise)" from Frozen. I found this unique style to be a fresh of breath air for an animated movie. Perhaps the most enjoyable part of this movie was the extent to which it explored the personality of each main character.
