Navin N Sabban's Review on Jacobinte Swargarajyam (2016) :
Directed by Vineeth Sreenivasan, based on the true events of The Malayali Family In Dubai.
Genre : Drama/Comedy/Thriller.
Synopsis :
This story (in fact an Experience) revolves around Jacob's (Father) family (Kingdom Of Heaven).wife (Sheryl),3 sons(Jerry Jacob, Abhin Jacob, one small boy), 1 daughter(Ammu Jacob). This movie shows the Life of them in Critical situation (debt) faced as in 1st half of film, the Words of a father to son (Jerry) for a successful life. How Jerry and his family overcome and repay the Debt is whole plot of the film. Amidst of all this, family stands strong and believes importance of good work and positive attitude can lead their life following the path of Jacob( father).
Performances :
Acting : Each and everyone were phenomenal in their role, special credits to Father(Jacob Zachariah), Jerry Jacob and the Director for creating scope for each character rather focusing on the main lead Nivin Pauly, here the whole point of film is considered by him "Family", each member of family contributes the role for Happiness.
Technical Aspects :
1. Direction :
It was unique, the take on the film was a brave attempt, becuz it was based on the real story, Even the slightest inclination towards other elements like commerciality and pure seriousness and love of the Jerry Jacob might have lead to divert the story.
2. Story :
The writer grasped each deepest family emotion from the real characters and put it onto the page.
3. Screenplay :
The flow to story on Screen was beautifully done , I think the best. The screenplay was Intact and thrilling. And also, as we move on in the film, we experience the pain of the characters in which they are.
4. Cinematography :
It was the grace of the film and exceptional shots.
5. Editing : Peaks.
6. Score and Music :
Music was the highlight in the film, one special Onam Song, "Phenomenal and Deep". I actually got emotional throughout the song I don't know why. Just Pure Emotional and enlightening.
Verdict : I think this film was Oscar Worthy, one of best movies made and watched in recent times. Period...
