My maiden name was Elder so this movie was always a staple for my family. That said, it is objectively an excellent movie. The story is unique and it has strong performances.

Tightly written. Well acted. Intense with a sense of foreboding throughout.Relevant. It really was like being a fly on the wall as these 4 historic figures hash out their personal and professional responsibilities toward advancing the cause of equality for blacks.
