Story: 10/10
The story is indescribable good. All the Meta elements had me in absolute disbelief. It's like the first game but cranked up to 11. It might be a little confusing at first but all the dots eventually connect as long as you were paying attention. Also you should definitely atleast watch a recap of what happened in Alan Wake 1, American Nightmare and Control if you don't want to play them (you should though).
Gameplay: 9/10
The combat is fun. Basically like the RE remakes but with the iconic Alan Wake light mechanic. However, there aren't that many enemies compared to RE or even AW1 as this game is mainly horror. So you should probably lower your expectations if you want an action focused game.
Other stuff:
The Atmosphere is incredible. The world feels actually alive and always conveys the intended feelings. The graphics look better than real life even at low-medium preset (also btw this game is *not* poorly optimized, the forest area is just really demanding). The usage of live action in this game is great. Especially in *that* level.
Overall a 10/10 game.
This game truly felt like the devs put all of their love into developing it instead of being forced by corporate overlords. I'm not one of the people who waited 13 years for this but if I did then I'd feel satisfied. One of, if not the best horror game on the market.
