One of the most creative, fascinating, blood curdling, and mind expanding movies I’ve seen to date. As a child with disability and transplants, the story of Bella discovering herself and how the world around her works after being cooped up in a lab/home, with the screen literally bursting into color, hit a deep part of my heart and to that I am grateful. The pure joy and intellectual growth Emma Stones Bella brings to this film is both disturbing and enchanting. I particularly love the costuming in this film, which combine period appropriate victorian pieces with bright and exciting colors and fabrics to create a world that is wholly original yet captivatingly familiar. A beautiful modern retelling of Frankenstein in a lively way.
