The roast started off great. It was funny, the jokes were tasteful, the audience was laughing genuinely; however, things quickly took a bad turn when the speakers started only making jokes about each other's races, ethnicities, and sexual orientations. I lost count of how many slurs and derogatory words were used by people that should not be saying those words, yet they still caught me off guard each time. Tom Brady was sexualized by several people throughout the show, and he looked uncomfortable at times because of this. I couldn't imagine sitting in a room filled with thousands of people while others talk about how badly they want to do me. After about an hour and a half, my only thoughts were "how did they get away with saying so many problematic and distasteful things?" and "how much longer is this show?". Overall, this roast could have been so much better and funnier if the roasts and jokes were more personalized rather than the unoriginal jokes that were passed around between speakers.
