I know some "professional critics" panned this movie but I really enjoyed it. The acting, actors, storyline, psychological intrigue, etc. are all superb. I mean you got Kevin Costner, Demi Moore, Marge Helgenberger, Dane Cook, and William Hurt in this film. They all do a great job. And the story is intriguing. I would've loved to have seen a sequel. Costner's performance is underappreciated, too. He balances well the sinister side of his character with the troubled husband and father who's an addict seeking to break free from his compulsion to murder.
This movie is art. It's not the traditional, shoot 'em up, weak script story Hollywood is known for. It's unique and well constructed. I enjoyed it. My only regret is that a sequel won't be made.
